Dear Friends:
The fundraiser at the Acorn's Antiques show was a great success, raising about $2,800 toward paying our lobbyist bill. We appreciate everyones efforts and donations, and we know it seems like we just keep asking for more. We know it will be worth it in the long run. If the pawnshop legislation passes, it will cost us all a lot more than we will spend fighting it. We still need to raise about another $13,000. so we will be taking advantage of another fundraising opportunity in November (the Rocky Mtn. Antiques show has donated booth space so we can again sell antiques to raise funds). We are again asking dealers to donate merchandise to stock this booth.
We think it's easier for the members to donate antiques instead of cash. The more we can raise at these shows, the less money we will need to come up with for our legislative activities.
If you can donate, you can drop the items at Gingerbread in sandy, EuroTreasures in Salt Lake City, or if you can't get them to us, let us know and we will find a way to pick them up.
We need these items in before the Nov. 14th Rocky Mtn Show.
We want to thank the many dealers that have been so generous with there time money and merchandise donations. If we all pull together, we will be able to put this legislation behind us.
Thanks,
Utah Antiques Dealers Association
